  1. AND this IS a pass. Well done and excellent coaching from Brad.

    Pointers:

    1) You ARE moving the db AWAY from her. LOCK your right arm in place and have a visual marker on the floor (even just laying a broom handle on the floor would do) and when you present you LOCK that right arm directly ABOVE your floor marker.

    2) When she does the pawing with her feet, you can set her shoulders OR do an "OUT!". That is avoidance behavior, and we don't ever want a dog to paw at your OR a retrieved item (BIG NO-NO in AKC OPEN and UTILITY Ring trials) so discourage it right now.

    3) She needs a longer Training Table because she's going onto the Lesson 4 6" retrieve. Do you have a yoga mat? If so, lay it on THIS coffee table and use for your Training Table.

    4) Alice, "Square up" as you start to present.

Great work everyone as I know the rest of the family was cheering you both onto success. And lo'n'behold, Tessa was wearing pants? Pants? Not her favorite summer dress-:)

Kimber rocks as the 'mature, trained, older dog' doesn't she now?

Onward..the 6" retrieve and get this nailed THIS WEEK. You CAN do this.

  2. Kimber IS the mature older dog. It's amazing how far she has come.
