The only issue I see is that you ARE putting the DB in her mouth. So, redo this section of this EXAM (the HOLD is fabulous and 100% Pass!!). Now, LOCK YOUR RIGHT ARM IN PLACE ABOVE THE EDGE OF THE BARRIER CLOSEST TO YOU. Not fair to ask her to REACH over that obstacle right now to get DB.
What to do if she Sits? Is she sitting before she puts her mouth on DB or after DB is in her mouth? I am not understanding where/what exactly is the issue? Please explain before I provide more feedback.
Otherwise, your mechanics, consistency, handling and etc., (other than getting irritated at her and I'm not sure why?) are excellent.
Brooke, your coaching is perfect. Oh MY WORD...your household is like a zoo! LOL.
She is defaulting into Sit as that is safe and she understands Sit, also what she is doing with Hold. So, it is common for a soft dog to be a smidge confused at this point in the retrieve training. Just help her continue to Turn to SSIF, even if the SSIF is just part way on the training table. This will go away during Lesson 7.

Mabel is sitting as she takes the DB or as soon as she takes it.
